Reason for joining Derwent Runners? Joined DR as they were the nearest club and wanted to run with others
Why do I run? For fitness and to fight the flab
Longest distance achieved: Marathon

Reason for joining Derwent Runners? Meet new people, encouragement to improve, pub runs ~ well earned chips & sandwiches 
Why do I run? Lose weight, to be able to walk up a flight of stairs without being breathless
Longest distance achieved: 16miles

Favorite Race: Derby 10K ~ great atmosphere running into Pride Park
Favourite terrain: short gentle slopes upwards and long long slopes downwards
Best piece of running advice? Keep going, the first 15mins is the hardest

Favourite Drink: gin & tonic 6pm -7pm; red wine 7pm – 9pm; strong white coffee 9pm – 10pm; single malt 10pm onwards

Year started running: 2000 (as a hobby, im not including cross country which was forced running at school).
Year joined Derwent Runners: 2008
Reason for joining Derwent Runners? To try to get fit, meet some new people and to get out and see the fantastic Derby countryside.
Why do I run? Escapism, running clears the mind and allows you to forget all your stresses and worries of life.
Longest distance achieved: 13.1 miles
Number of races per year:1-2 races per year, but hoping to increase.
Favourite Race: To date, Gt North Run (the last mile is fantastic), however i expect this to change over the years.
Favourite terrain: Combination of road, grass, bridlepath - Variety its the spice of life.
Best piece of running advice? Take your mind off running by chatting to people, regulates the breathing and does not allow your mind to win the battle of brain vs tiredness.
